Alan Paul - 1 February 2014

01 Feb 2014 186
During The Manhattan Transfer's final concert of four on board Holland America Eurodam for the Jazz Cruise 2014, Alan Paul was in playful mood for his solo and performed 'Cuentame' (The Speak Up Mambo) with an accompaniment of a garbage can (waste bin). The rather unflattering image of drummer Cliff Almond in the background is caused by a cymbal being exposed in the same light as his face. The members of The Manhattan Transfer are all prominent artists individually and it is usual for at least two to perform solos during concerts by the group. TZ30_P1010702 Geotagging approximate

American White Ibis (1) - 24 January 2014

24 Jan 2014 154
At lunchtime the sprinklers came on outside the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach. As they stopped, a rather dramatic flock of 21 American White Ibis landed probably for their own lunch, wondering what the moisture might have brought to the surface. They moved quite quickly for good photographs so I have posted three selective crops. 200_P1000420C
