This African White Rhinoceros, who is only slightly smaller than my house, was not moving very much which is ideal for photography....and probably just as well too.

See things differently (2). The seemingly placid but also rather distant African White Rhinoceros needed something extra in the composition. I felt the tree was ideal....and the magpie an added bonus.

I had little hope for a decent result when I shot this Sitatunga well in the shade at Whipsnade Zoo. I was surprised.

This female Red River Hog, in addition to having snuffling duties on a hot day was being pursued by two young who were suckling at every opportunity.

Technically, this shot is not good enough to post. The panda was way up in the tree and against the light but it seems a shame to leave it out. My partner has posted a much better photograph taken with different equipment.

As I work on a considerable backlog of both images and editing, here is a simple something to uplift. I was walking to photograph the Islander next in sequence (if you are viewing my photostream) when both light and subject seemed right for this suburban portrait of a local horse in Lee on Solent.
