Railway Hotel, Fordingbridge - 5 October 2020
Of Fordingbridge station or the erstwhile formation in the area, there is no trace but the Railway Hotel at 116 Station Road, which stands opposite the station site, survives.
When the station closed in 1964, the pub was renamed the Load of Hay and, later, the Augustus John after the artist. A refurbishment started in 2019 was accompanied by a decision by the owner to revive the Railway Hotel name. The completion of the work in 2020 has resulted in a beautiful landmark building for Fordingbridge to be proud of.
