Atrium Hotel, Heathrow - 6 April 2019

Atrium Hotel, Heathrow - 6 April 2019
When I visited Heathrow and, more precisely, Hatton Cross one month ago, I noted the installation at the Atrium Hotel of a sign which suggested to me that it might be opening soon. A walk round the outside today soon dispelled that thought in spite of some very upbeat notices around the perimeter. The website and Facebook page too are very upbeat for somewhere that appears to be going to struggle to open in 'early 2019' depending, I suppose, on your definition of 'early'. Offering 581 rooms and 36 conference rooms, the new arrival describes itself as 'London's latest icon' and uses some pretty flowery language to anticipate the user experience. Bookings are being taken from April 2019 but, significantly, the pool, gym, sauna and steam are, according to the hotel's own website, not available until 1 June 2019. Nor is the 120 space car park. The website gives a Feltham address which, given the amorphous nature of the area, is close enough but one would readily recognise Hatton Cross station, diagonally opposite the unattractive corner site at the junction of Great South West Road and Faggs Road.
