Even with their planned service life extended, the BA B747-400 will gradually become a less common sight at Heathrow. Arguably a little tired on the inside, the type has a beauty all its own on departure especially in the turn. Nothing says 'Welcome (home) to T5' quite as effectively as a handful of 400s such as were present on this March morning. This photograph of G-BYGE is taken from another, G-CIVF, arriving from PHL.
