The Bank, Plymouth - 22 May 2018
This building, at the end of Old George Street (nr Derry's Cross) in Plymouth accommodates, rather stylishly The Bank pub and restaurant. Unsurprisingly, it was formerly a bank, built for Lloyds in 1889 and attributed to Pevsner. What is remarkable is that it survives at all in an area heavily bombed during WWII. Some of the damage done after the war can be glimpsed (right) in the form of the hideous Theatre Royal car park.
