Silver Whisper at Helsinki (2) - 10 August 2016

Silversea Silver Whisper at Kanavaterminaali, Helsinki. She had arrived from St Petersburg and would depart for Copenhagen.

The constraints of photographing a ship from the port (rather than the sea) are such that one sometimes has to consider an unconventional composition, as here. Silver Whisper is seen through part of the Helsinki Skywheel. The Skywheel has 30 gondolas of which two are customised. One offers a VIP experience from sponsors Veuve Clicquot and the other, visible in this photograph is, believe it or not, a sauna!
