Accessible to Whom? - 2 July 2016

My many visits to Amsterdam have allowed me to observe that the city does not seem particularly well appointed for people with mobility difficulties. There are many uneven surfaces, poorly maintained pavements (sidewalks) and inadequately lowered curbs. These steps at Oosterdok caught my eye for being poorly maintained but, strikingly, having no handrail on either side in spite of the presence of a bike rail to aid movement of the ubiquitous bicycles.
