Site of Barnstaple Victoria Road Station (2) - 7 June 2016
Barnstaple in North Devon has a rich railway history, once boasting as many as three stations. Barnstaple was originally the western terminus of the Devon and Somerest Railway (1873) and was renamed Barnstaple Victoria Road in 1949. The goods shed remains and is today occupied by the Grosvenor Church seen in the distance. Former railway land is occupied by retail units including a McDonald's (behind the photographer), Majestic Wine and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
