Leeds Church Institute - 24 March 2016
The city of Leeds has some beautiful Victorian architecture. One outstanding building is the former Church Institute at Albion Place and Lands Lane which now houses a Byron hamburger restaurant. Unfortunately, I can bring you only a photograph of its local blue plaque (taken at night and edited) but this excellent web page www.victorianweb.org/art/architecture/leeds/13.html has a photograph of the building under its previous ownership. This is a building to be admired. The sympathetic restaurant interior reflects some of its history and it is worth looking beyond the contemporary exposed HVAC and lighting to savour the detail.
