I am not sure what message this Queen Street, Auckland ATM is delivering. On the one hand, I see a bit of fun and comforting social liberalism, on the other I see a sort of subliminal but probably unintentional stereotype.

I agree, difficult to figure out. The whole issue of corporate endorsement of gay gets complex since it (in the U.S.) is too often based on acknowledging that gays are high-end consumers and isn't based on progressive politics. And then there's the whole issue of gay as frilly and "fabulous"...
