S&DJR Remembered (2) - 30 March 2013
My pursuit of railway history continued today in Sturminster Newton in Dorset where the actual infrastructure of the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway (S&DJR) has all but disappeared but the route and station are marked. This plaque is on one pillar of the beautiful gates (previous picture) at one entrance to Railway Gardens which were created when the cutting formerly containing the tracks was filled in to create a public space. The plaque appears to have originated at Washford station.
