Hahn/Cock - 28 July 2013
Hahn/Cock, 2013 by Katharina Fritsch is the latest work to occupy the fourth plinth (in Trafalgar Square). The figure is in glass fibre reinforced polyester resin with a stainless steel supporting structure.
It is difficult to arrive at the scene of something which has been in place for a few days, which has attracted a lot of attention and still be original beyond the satisfaction of having ones own photograph. All the jokes have been done. There is a range of compositional possibilities. I tried several and have chosen this wide view to put the work in context and include the perennially attractive St Martins in the Fields.
