HHFF - Happy Hannover Fence Friday!
### (PG918768)
The Waterloo column with surrounding fence in Hanover. Built on the occasion of the victory of Great Britain, Prussia and Hanover against Napoléon I. in the battle of Waterloo (Belgium) in 1815. Formerly open to the general public for ascent via an internal spiral staircase, for several years only on special occasions. By the way, the Hanoverians correctly pronounce the name of the column not in English, but according to the location of the place Waterloo in Belgium in (germanized ;-) French.
