Another sculpture on Nieuwpoort beach. This piece called "Erratique" is by the Swiss Chapuisat Brothers.
"Erratic" is a term geologists use to describe a stone that is out of place, geologically speaking. Could that have been the inspiration here?

Another sculpture along the seafront at Nieuwpoort, the inscription translates as "Goddess of the Wind".

"Searching for Utopia". Belgian sculptor Jan Fabre's giant golden turtle on the beach at Nieuwpoort. I understand that it has since been moved inland.

This statue, at the edge of Leopold Park in Ostende, is known by the locals as "Fat Mathilda". Reubenesque (in my opinion) rather than fat, officially she is the personification of the Sea.

Sculpture, Leopold Park, Ostende. I can't decide whether these three represent bullets or Ku-Klux-Klansmen.

Opel Agila (a rebadged Suzuki Wagon R+). Originally designed by Suzuki these were sold worldwide under lots of different names. Remarkable vehicles that were more spacious than their small footprint would suggest. I had one (Suzuki badged) for a few years.

I'm really not sure what this is. From a distance I thought it was some type of bench, but as we got closer I see that what I thought was the seat is actually scooped out - so I suspect that it is in fact a form of horse trough. Ostende.

Equestrian statue of King Leopold II, king of Belgium from 1865 to 1909. Interestingly, the Belgian monarch is correctly styled "King of the Belgians" rather than "King of Belgium", emphasising his connection with the people and not just the country.
