Türklopfer mit Poseidon
Diesen außergewöhnlichen Türklopfer entdeckte ich auf einem Streifzug durch Venedig im Jahre 2005. Er zeigt Poseidon und zwei Hyppocampi. Ein Hippokamp oder Hippokampos ist ein Fabelwesen, vorne ein Pferd, hinten ein Fisch.
In Darstellungen der griechischen Mythologie wird der Hippokamp als Zug- oder Reittier verschiedener Meeresgötter dargestellt. Das Vorderteil hat manchmal Flügel, der hintere Fischteil mit Rückenflosse ist oft eingerollt wie eine Schlange.
Poseidon ist in der griechischen Mythologie der Gott des Meeres, Bruder des Zeus und eine der zwölf olympischen Gottheiten, den Olympioi. Das Pferd ist ihm heilig, weshalb Hippios (lateinisch Hippius) einer seiner Beinamen ist.

Dieser Karneval hat absolut nichts mit unserem lauten "Remmidemmi" gemeinsam. Aus den Kirchen und alten Palästen dringt Barock- oder Klassische Musik nach draußen, die mit wunderschönen, und phantasievollen, meist selbst geschaffenen Kostümen bekleideten Menschen flanieren gemächlich durch die Gassen und posieren vor den wunderschönen historischen Gebäuden.
