A lovely homage to Joséphine Baker...............the house is very beautiful. She had an amazing and varied life, including being a civil rights activist and a French Resistance agent.

Merci keith pour le lien. Il est bien documenté. Ici en Dordogne, tout le monde connait Josephine. (Tout au moins les gens de ma génération) Quand j'étais enfant, mes parents nous avaient emmenés voir son château .(Nous n'habitions pas loin) J'en ai peu de souvenir mais le mot "Milandes" a longtemps résonné dans ma tête comme un endroit merveilleux et exotique. Adolescent, j'ai assisté à la vente de son château au tribunal de Bergerac. Celà m'avait révolté.C'est l'état ou le département qui auraient du racheter ce château. Par contre la propriétaire actuelle, Angélique de Saint Exupery, fait dans ce château un travail de mémoire trés intéréssant concernant Josephine Baker.pour qui j'ai beaucoup d'affection.
