Well Nick! How did this "little boat' get up there on dry land? :))) are all the sail boats coming to assist? :))) Sarah hugs,

It was the day of the round the island race when yachts race around the Isle of Wight starting and finishing at Cowes. Over 1200 yachts entered and just over half managed to finish in time as the winds were fairly light and the tide strong. This shot was taken at Stokes Bay and the cruise liner os off Gilkicker ~ Hugs ~ Nick

Great framing Nick!
I find those cruise ships ugly too and couldn't bear to be aboard one. They look top heavy too ...

Tupperware boats Maggs, & as you say top heavy and not our sort of place. Good luck to those that use them, but think of the pollution and overcrowding of popular tourist destinations ~

That's a silly question, Nick. And the answer is easy. Someone lifted the barrier, and the council excavated a temporary channel in the road. ;-)

Hi Nick,

The answer is quite simple, it started behind you, sailed round the world, (since we know the Earth is a sphere), and now it has almost completed its journey!

Or, theory 2, the ditch that we have to dig round every car park to stop the 'pike..men' putting their caravans there got flooded.... And it sailed!

Best Wishes
Peter

Since you are obviously oblivious to what goes on in these ships it's no wonder you are left in the dark as to how it might have got under the barrier. Do you not know these big ships have huge bouncy castles for the kids and so it was bounced over the barrier, along the shore then back into the sea by too many bouncing at the same time.
Or theory No. 2: sail-away party got out of hand!
ps I love to cruise but this looks a little too big for me too. Great shot. ~Herb
