Piona Abbey

Piona Abbey
The Piona Priory or Piona Abbey, is a religious complex on the Lecco bank of Lake Como in the territory of the municipality of Colico, northern Italy.
The abbey is set at the top of a small peninsula, the Olgiasca, which – like a crooked finger – points into the lake, creating an inlet.

Marco F. Delminho, Rosalyn Hilborne, aNNa schramm, Nick Weall and 8 other people have particularly liked this photo

My dear Füsun,

Thank you so much. Your kind words have made me very happy today!
As you know, for these pictures, we have to do just a little more than set the camera!
(And then we can leave the monks to their prayers in peace!)

Love Peter

Hi Isabel,

Thank you for your kind words, and appreciation.
I don't know why you couldn't see the xif, I just checked, it is there. Just for the record, it was 0.6 sec at f4.2 on an ISO setting of 100. I have a special 'low profile tripod' for this kind of situation, and used it!

Best wishes
Peter.

Maybe you did not set them to be public, if so it is normal you see them and me not... just check. Thanks anyway, I think exif are useful to learn one from the others.

Hi Anna,

Thank you for your appreciation. As I remember, there was no artificial light here, simply sunlight through the windows. Unfortunately the opening hours were limited, and I could not take any more.

Sorry for late reply, I've been away for the weekend.

Hello Peter,

Fabulous interior shot. I love how the darkness is framing the beautiful golden light. What lovely wall paintings.

Best wishes, Rosa.

Hi Rosa

Thank you so much for your kind words here.
As I said to Anna, there is no artificial light here. Obviously the designers did a really good job with the light!
Sorry for late reply, I've been away for the weekend.
