You were both very lucky indeed dear Sarah to escape largely unhurt here from serious neck injury .. i assume the gas tank was quite full also for your trip ahead to Gatlinburg ?

Best wishes ... Steve xx

Yes Steve, we are more aware of our luck here with each passing day! Im not over this yet, our Doctor advised me a bit on how I may feel for another week or two .. Im emotionally affected at this time, very shaky and quite sad most of the time. I have a medication.
Oh yes the tank was full as this was at the very beginning of this day long drive.

kind greetings, Sarah xx

Verry sorry to hear of it. Nothing good comes of these things.
I know; 30-35 years ago I used to be involved with motor insurance claims. No one came out a winner!

Hello Andy, interesting that you were involved in the insurance industry. We are involved at the moment now with this claim , the lawyer we have acquired is on it, and we will see how this goes.

thanks Andy, Sarah

A bit of a shock Sarah and as long as nobody was hurt then it is only material things and a lot of inconvenience. For a tail end shunt seems the driver of the other vehicle was either driving to fast and to close or not concentrating. Having looked at all the pictures, how many vehicles were actually involved?

Maurice, thank you, YES., a shock indeed, and in fact, I feel I am still in shock. BUT so lucky to have had no more injury than we sustained. Our car, however, is another thing! it is a total loss.
the large truck was close, and should have been able to adjust when I began to HAVE to slow for the mess ahead of me..... Maurice, there were 4 vehicles. us, the large offending tractor trailer who hit us, it also swung around with its load and struck a lady in another vehicle, who was NOT knocked off the road as we were, and a large truck with the chicken parts that fell from his unit causing ME to have to slow.... we are wondering now if THAT vehicle might share some responsibility here???? the lawyer or insurance companies will sort this out.

thanks Maurice, (my father in law was named Maurice) Sarah

Sarah, You were struck from behind, in UK law the vehicle behind you must take ALL the blame, he should be driving in a manner where he is able to stop his vehicle safely regardless of the conditions in front of him. In the case of a multi vehicle accident, if another vehicle collided with the vehicle which ran into you then the driver of the vehicle that ran into you must claim off the driver that ran into him and so on.

Oh Sarah!! What a terrible shock! It looks quite a pile up too. So pleased you and your loved ones escaped unhurt, but the shock stays with you I'm sure.
Love and best wishes to you, Rosa.

Hello Rosa, YES indeed. a SHOCK, Im still dealing with that !! It certainly was a PILE UP, one not often seen, with the debrie that was involved here. Ir was only my husband and myself in this, as we left town for our annual get-a-way to the Smokey Mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee.... We've seen a Doctor and she advised me of how I will feel for a week or two. She is certainly correct on that. thanks for your good wishes, appreciate your visit and comment here. Warm wishes returned to you.....and thankful, Sarah

Hello dear Alan, thank you so much!! YES we were lucky and are humbled by the sudden and shocking event! WE will be OK, but I have to get beyond this daily feeling of overwhelming sadness and disbelief...still aches and pains, but that is a small thing compared to the reality of this day's events. thank you so much for your kind wishes, yours and Sue's....
