I'd never heard of using this for flower bedding but I can see it would be good as a protective mulch.

Well, Andy! Im gald you learned something here! :)))) kidding. YES this stuff is used EVERYWHERE here for this purpose. throughout my pano gallery I had photos that showed the use of the straw. We certainly use it, its a great mulch and looks nice as well in the beds and islands. Thanks for your visit, Andy. Best of wishes, Sarah

Hello dear Steve, Yes, this is interesting! we have such a great friend that givea us permission to go and get all the straw we need. and if you look closely you see that the straw has all been "swept " or blown , into the rows at the foot of the trees, so all we do is go and throw the straw into the trailer. Pretty neat huh! Most people have to BUY this stuff!! Right beside that trailer you can see where we are working, right at the foot of those trees, just throwing the straw into the trailer. and YES it was the perfect day for this, sunny and a cool breeze. Nice! But I got a bit tired :)) reckon that's my age? :))) thanks so much Steve. Sarah x
