Sierra de La Cabrera with the Convento Monasterio de San Julian y San Antonio. Without the right lenses, stitching ability, etc, I have never been able to get the whole ridge in one shot from this close. Therefore, the best I can come up with are these two shots next to each other!

Granite scenery. The three peaks L to R of El Cancho Largo, El Cancho Gordo and El Cancho de La Bola. As you all know by now, this is my all-time favourite walking area, with the sea cliffs and coastal paths in Cornwall a very close second!

Convento monasterio de San Julian y San Antonio, encina (a very hardy holm oak) in the foreground and Cancho Largo, the highest point in La Sierra de La Cabrera on the horizon. Granite everywhere! Another very cold winter's day despite appearances! Suggest better on large.

This is from the south and shows the steeper rise to the crest of the ridge. It was a slightly hazy autumn day and I went for a slightly hazy look. Therefore not worth enlarging for detail; there isn't any! Sight and Sound; The best pop song of all time in my opinion and that of John Peel. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PinCg7IGqHg
