La construction a commencé probablement dans le premier tiers du XIVe siècle.
En 1457, la construction du clocher est terminée. La tour, couronnée par une flèche, atteint la hauteur de 130 m.
En 1529, une tempête fait crouler la flèche. Dans les années 1531-1535, la tour est reconstruite, mais dans le style Renaissance. Elle s’élève aujourd’hui à 91 m.
