La croix de fer a été depuis longtemps "détournée" par les motards américains (Hell's Angels) puis par des groupes de rock metal, ce qui ne veut pas dire qu'ils soient nazis. C'était fait pour choquer au départ, c'est devenu une décoration comme une autre (ou presque).
Les nazis avaient eux-même récupéré cette croix qui date de 1813 (comme la croix gammée qui a... des milliers d'années).
