Die erste Leussower Kirche aus der Zeit von 1250 bis 1275 war im romanischen Stil erbaut.
Die heutige neugotische Kreuzkirche mit polygonalem Chorabschluss und Westturm wurde 1874 geweiht. (aus "Dorf- und Stadtkirchen im Kirchenkreis Parchim", Bremen / Rostock 2001)
