Questa regione è stata chiamata il "crocevia delle sette strade del mondo" perché è stata attraversata dalla Grande Via della Seta. Nel solco di questa tradizione, il Turkmenistan è molto ricco di risorse naturali, biologiche e culturali ed è una delle nazioni che stanno crescendo più velocemente da un punto di vista economico. Negli ultimi anni ha sviluppato e messo in atto un ampio programma di investimenti per valorizzare le sue infrastrutture e la sua produzione agricola. Nella produzione di alimenti, l’obiettivo futuro è la sostenibilità, la tutela ambientale e il risparmio nel consumo di acqua. I meloni, famosi in tutto il mondo, chiamati “waharman” del Turkmenistan, sono uno dei prodotti agricoli di esportazione a cui si aggiungono altri prodotti dell’industria alimentare. Turkmenistan is the birthplace of the ancient civilizations that left a legacy of unique cultural heritage to humanity. This region was called the “crossroads of the seven roads of the world” because it was crossed by the Great Silk Road. In this tradition, Turkmenistan is very rich in natural, biological and cultural resources. Actually Turkmenistan is one of the worlds fastest economically growing nations and in recent years has developed a large investment program in its infrastructure and its agriculture production. In the production of food, the future focus is on sustainability, environmental conservation and water consumption. The world famous melons named “Waharman” of Turkmenistan are one of the agricultural products exported in addition to other products in the food industry.

La partecipazione della Slovacchia a Expo Milano 2015 si fonda su due pilastri: la varietà storica, culturale, naturale, e la sinergia simbiotica dei diversi ambienti sociali, naturali e culturali. Come provvedere all’energia per la vita? La Slovacchia risponde con la simbiosi della biodiversità al posto della specializzazione, la competizione e la differenziazione, perché la ricchezza biologica può nutrire il pianeta e apportare l’energia per la vita. Anche all’interno dell’ecosistema agricolo, in un Paese conosciuto per gli sterminati campi di grano, coesistono tutti i molteplici aspetti della filiera alimentare, dalle piccole fattorie ai grandi impianti energetici. Its participation at Expo Milano 2015 is based on two pillars: historical, cultural, natural variety, and the symbiotic synergy of a number of social, cultural and natural environments. How can we provide energy for life? Slovakia responds with the symbiosis of biodiversity in place of specialization, competition and differentiation, since biological abundance can feed the world and provide energy for life. Even in the agricultural ecosystem of a country renowned for endless fields of wheat, there is a coexistence of all elements of the food chain, from small farms to large power plants.

Scavare nella Storia per il Cibo del futuro Digging into History for future Food Nell’affrontare il Tema Nutrire il Pianeta, Energia per la Vita, la Turchia concentra la sua partecipazione sul suo patrimonio ricco e antico. Il cibo è vita, e la vita in questi territori ha avuto inizio circa 12.000 anni fa. Il Padiglione costituisce un ambiente dove culture e tecnologie lavorano insieme per un obiettivo comune. La Turchia desidera mettere in atto soluzioni innovative ai problemi di fondo della Terra come la nutrizione e l’energia. Il Paese vuole inoltre condividere l’esperienza raggiunta grazie agli insegnamenti appresi nella sua lunga storia. All’interno del Padiglione verranno mostrate la cultura turca, le sue tradizioni e la sua tecnologia. While addressing the issue of Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, Turkey focuses its participation on its long and rich heritage. Food is life, and life in these lands started around 12.000 years ago. The Pavilion provides a setting where a mixture of cultures and technologies come together and work towards a common belief. Turkey is eager to produce innovative solutions about the basic problems on the earth such as nutrition and energy. Turkey also wants to share all the experience gained from lessons learned throughout its long history. Inside the Pavilion will be exhibited Turkish culture, traditions and technology.

Il colosso immobiliare China Vanke partecipa all’Expo Milano 2015 con un proprio padiglione di 1000 m² disegnato dall’archistar Libeskind. “Un microcosmo che collega la Cina con l’Italia e la cultura europea con quella cinese” come ha spiegato l’architetto al progetto per Milano 2015. Immaginato secondo pensieri di Confucio e Lao Tzu, con riferimenti al Rinascimento e alle geometrie sinuose dell’arte contemporanea, il padiglione Corporate China Vanke sarà il lungo che accompagnerà il visitatore di e gli sviluppi che ha compiuto nel XXI secolo. Coerentemente con il tema di Expo Milano la volontà del progettista è rappresentare “la crescita di un organismo che dalla terra sale verso il cielo, e si ispira allo ‘shitang’ (mensa in cinese) ovvero alla condivisione del pasto e alla convivialità comune”. La mensa, infatti, offre momenti di incontro e di scambio, rappresentando quella serenità ideale tra le persone, per la quale la società Vanke si fa promotrice. L’esterno del padiglione èinteramente rivestito da piastrelle rosse, disegnate per l’occasione da Libeskind e prodotte da Casalgrande Padana, in un nuovo materiale ceramico: ecosostenibile ed autopulente. Al suo interno il Padiglione Vanke narra la storia cinese attraverso una passeggiata in una foresta virtuale composta da 300 schermi che proiettano cortometraggi sulla vita delle comunità locali, nella cui quotidianità lo shitang svolge un ruolo fondamentale. A Venue to Foster Joy and Harmony for the Chinese The Chinese giant and leader in real estate, with its participation in Expo Milano 2015 aims to offer the world a showpiece of contemporary life in China, from the perspective of ordinary people, through the experience and spirit of the Shitang. In its pavilion of 959 square meters are recreated the atmospheres linked to the Shitang which, much more than a simple canteen, represents a traditional social structure, present since ancient times, and which still exists in contemporary Chinese society in various forms. It is a convivial space where they can find inexpensive food and a peaceful, healthy environment. The pavilion, located near the Lake Arena, was designed by architect Daniel Libeskind of New York and by Libeskind Architettura in Milan, which conceived it as an extension of the surrounding landscape. The musicality of its proportions, its sinuous geometry and the fluid movement between the inner and outer volume, create a journey through space and time. The exhibition is organized on two independent routes, from the inside towards the outside, and with a garden that is found on the roof. Visitors are immersed in a forest of poles, with screens which project scenes of lunches, joy, and sharing. The installation, based on the metaphor of roots, trunks and branches symbolizes Vanke’s commitment to the community, which lives among the mutual relationships of people, values and traditions.

Confooderatio Helvetica Nella sua personale riflessione sul Tema di Expo Milano 2015 Nutrire il pianeta, energia per la vita la Svizzera, primo Paese ad aver aderito a Expo Milano 2015, riflette sulla scarsità delle risorse alimentari nel mondo e mostra l’altra faccia dell’abbondanza. Il suo padiglione è costituito da quattro torri piene di acqua, sale, caffè e mele dai quali il visitatore potrà attingere. Ma c’è un limite alle risorse disponibili… superarlo significa privare gli altri visitatori delle stesse possibilità. Grazie alla modularità della struttura, mano a mano che le torri si svuotano il livello delle piattaforme su cui poggiano si abbassa, permettendo così al pubblico di visualizzare il proprio comportamento in relazione ai consumi. Il progetto, incentrato sulla disponibilità e sulla distribuzione delle risorse alimentari a livello mondiale, invita i visitatori a riflettere sul proprio comportamento di consumo. With its unique take on the theme of Expo Milano 2015 Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, Switzerland, which was the first country to join the Expo Milano 2015, reflects on the scarcity of food resources in the world and shows the other side of abundance. Its pavilion is made up of four towers, full of water, salt,coffee and apples which the visitor can take away. Thanks to the modularity of the structure, the platform on which the towers stand is lowered as they are emptied, allowing everyone to see for themselves their own habits of consumption. The project, which focuses on the availability and distribution of food resources in the world, invites visitors to reflect on their behavior as consumers.

Condividere, crescere, vivere Uno dei principali obiettivi del genere umano è quello di migliorare la propria qualità di vita. Che si tratti di ambito finanziario o socioculturale, occorre affrontare enormi sfide locali e globali. È necessario trovare soluzioni per preservare la vita nel futuro. Il Padiglione olandese si ispira a un vero e proprio luna park con una ruota panoramica. Particolarmente adatto, dunque, anche ai più piccoli. Theme “Share, Grow, Live” One of mankind’s most fundamental objectives is to improve our quality of life. Whether it’s financial or sociocultural well-being, it leads to huge local and global challenges. These are diverse and interconnected. In order to sustain future life, solutions need to be found. The Dutch Pavilion is inspired by a real amusement park with a Ferris wheel. Particularly suitable, therefore, even for the smallest.

Eco-design Il padiglione è un solido rettangolare, la cui superficie esterna è delineata da scatole di legno. Tutto l'edificio sarà trattato come una scatola di grandi dimensioni (o uno scrigno) che nasconde all’interno i suoi "gioielli". La struttura traforata rimanda alla forma eco-compatibile e semplice delle scatole di mele. Il progetto del Padiglione della Polonia è stato creato dallo studio 2PM del giovane architetto polacco Piotr Musiałowski. Attraverso la sua originalità e la sua forma particolare vuole rappresentare una risposta precisa al Tema di Expo Milano 2015, Nutrire il Pianeta, Energia per la Vita. Scultura di Igor Mitoraj(1944-2014) Eco-design The Pavilion has a simple, rectangular form whose external look is outlined by wooden boxes. As for the building, it is treated as a large-scale box (or casket) in its entirety, hiding valuable "gems" within its interior spaces. The openwork structure refers to the ecological and simple form of apple boxes. Poland’s Pavilion project was created by studio 2PM, belonging to the up-and-coming Polish architect Piotr Musiałowski, and its originality and surprising form is a clear response to the theme of Expo Milano 2015, Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. Eating for Longevity, Afghanistan Amazingly Real From mineral caves to herbs and spices, Afghanistan is a country that is rich in natural resources, evoking the tastes and aromas of its life and culture. Expo Milano 2015 has been a great opportunity to discover the most authentic products, in particular, the typical spices. Spices are able to give a unique flavor to recipes and with the promise of long life and good health. They are key to a healthy life if organically cultivated just like herbs and fruits.
