Cattedrale

Just 150 metres from the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany, Nantes Cathedral is a splendid example of flamboyant Gothic. The construction of this majestic church was started in the 15th century but completed more than 450 years later, in the 19th century. As well as standing out for its imposing size and architectural beauty, the cathedral is known for a number of items kept inside, including the tomb of François II of Brittany and Marguerite de Foix, Dukes of Brittany and parents of Anne of Brittany, and the 11th-century crypt that houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to the building's troubled history.
