My collection.
These handcrafted angels were made in the Oar Mountains of Germany. My father grew up in those mountains. The angels are 52 years old. They are three inches tall. I missed one trumpet player and accidentally duplicated the drummer.

Ich kenne diese Figuren sehr wohl. Meine Mutter (*1908) hatte schon als junge Frau angefangen zu sammeln. Die noch ueberschaubare Kapelle hat den Krieg überstanden und wurde -seit ich denken kann- jedes Jahr im Advent wieder aufgestellt. Wir Kinder haben ihr dann jeweils eine weitere Figur geschenkt und mit der Zeit wuchs die Kapelle zum Sinfonie-Orchester. Jede Figur erhielt unten auf den Sockel die Jahreszahl und den Namen des Schenkenden geschrieben.

Die ganze Truppe ging nach dem Tod der Mutter auf mich ueber und ich habe sie inzwischen an die Enkeltochter weitergegeben.
