Fresh produce time in Michigan

Fresh produce time in Michigan
Michigan is a large peach and corn producer and roadside stands offer the fresh produce everywhere right now.

Ronald Losure, Andy Rodker, Paolo Tanino have particularly liked this photo

We used to take our holidays as a family in Suffolk (in the east of England), a centre of maize production. We usually went in the first two weeks of September and THAT coincided with the maize harvest, so most days included fresh corn-on-the-cob (delicious!) Perhaps climate change has pushed the harvest forward to the last two weeks in August. (I'm talking the mid 70s when we went there.)

Very interesting information, Andy. Thanks.
Here in Michigan, early August has always been the "Sweet Corn" beginning of the season. The feed maize is not harvested until late November, sometimes in early December. Sweet corn grows faster and is a lot more tender.

Very cute! You're playing with your food again, Dörthe. Our local peaches were finished a couple of weeks ago, and we just ate the last ones from the refrigerator yesterday.
