Pileated Woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus)

In our neighborhood is a small park with one area where old trees give this magnificent bird a home. I was walking our dog in this park this afternoon, when I suddenly heard a loud bird call and then a few pecks on a tree. It took me a few minutes to locate his position.
