Trumpeter Swan (Cygnus buccinator)

Trumpeter Swan (Cygnus buccinator)
Not too far from our home we came by a small pond in a remote corner of Oakland County, Michigan, where I spotted a pair of swans with two cygnets. It was a great surprise, I had never seen these majestic birds so close.

niraK68, Ronald Losure, neira-Dan and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Yes, it is a great surprise to see these magnificent birds. I am sure I have never seen any. Excellent photo, too.

Thank you, Ron. We had stopped along the road when I spotted the family and I had time to watch them with the window down. They stayed in one place feeding.
