The city saved our tree (please read below).

The city saved our tree (please read below).
When the city wanted to cut down this old maple, we were asked if we would agree. We asked if the tree could stay, because it is 70 years old and gives shelter to many birds and wonderful shade for our house during hot summer days. The city listened and we are very grateful to the crew that took the time to save the tree by building the new sidewalk around the huge trunk. This all is remarkable because the city actually owns the tree and the property to the left of the tree.

Ronald Losure, micritter, Tanja - Loughcrew have particularly liked this photo

Danke, Tanja. Wir sind auch sehr froh, dass die Stadt mit und nicht gegen die Einwohner arbeitet.

How wonderful and what an unusually sensible bureaucracy. Thank you for sharing this.

What is happening at the White House these days is not the America I have known for 50 years. This little town is what I love this country for so much. Working together, talking about problems and the city offices are always open for anyone needing answers. Thank you, micritter.

Wonderful. It would have been a great loss to cut down the tree.

Yes, Ron, we would have lost more than just the wonderful shade over our house. Many birds have made it their home every Spring.
