Blast rocked Jaipur (capital of Rajasthan/India)

Tuesday May 13, 2008 at 05:29PM

I just read on the BBC news site that there were heavy blasts, probably terrorist attacks, in the city of Jaipur. I read about a death toll of 25 people. This horrible attack happened right in the center of the city, i guess here:

20080229-0808
20080229-0808

A part of "palace of the winds" in foreground, a temple in background. The news reports are saying that the temple was very crowded, when the explosions happened.
I am really feeling sorry for those innocent people killed or hurt by the attack.
I was to Jaipur in March this year and enjoyed my stay very much.

I ll NOT stay home, that is what those terrorists want us to do...

I have been in Jaipur for several times. It is sad that fundamentalism causes so much violence at these times. I also like to travel where I want and I agree with you that fear is not the right answer. Although travelling is not as it was 10, 15 years ago. All the controls, the presence of police everywhere and the rising distrust are things which I really do not like and make myself sad.

Yes i do not care for all those security measures as well however in those times there are necessary, sad but true. I still enjoy travelling very much and will continue.
The trip to India was NOT my last one to this beautiful and amazing country.
