Widely known and revered in southeast Asia as the "king of fruits", the durian is distinctive for its large size, unique odour, and formidable thorn-covered husk. Most foreigners refuse to eat or smell this fruit but once they discover the taste most of the will like it. I needed a long time to get accustomed the great taste of this king of the fruit, now it is my favorite.

Like happen at a open market any where in Thailand a vendor lady shout out to sell mature mangos ready to eat immediately. She also peals and prepares the mangos for the meal.

Most Thai love to eat the mangos before changing the color to yellow and getting sweet. Young and raw mangoes are used for many Thai dishes, not only for sweet meals and raw mangoes add a more delicate sour flavour to dishes and are featured in Thai salads such as Yam Ma-muang and in chilli dips.
