For Macro Mondays #418, 16 June 2025. The subject this week is "Tree bark".
The Australian native tree, the "Wollemi Pine" (though not really a pine) was first discovered growing as late as 1994 - having previously only been known through fossils from dinosaur days. You can read more about it here: . This is the bark of a small one growing in a pot - the blade of grass gives some indication of size.

Macro Mondays - 162: 20 July 2020. Subject "Your own profession". Long ago I worked in meteorology. Later, while in other work, my wife and I purchased a rural property which we worked on weekends and full time after retirement. Watching the weather and rainfall was vitally important, so this image fits my background in two different ways. Best on black.
