This monument was erected to commemorate Captain Cook's mapping voyage up Australia's coast in 1770. At right is the "Little Blowhole" (see PiP) where waves interact with geology,. Happy Fence Friday and have a great weekend.

At Kiama there is an area of volcanic rock which happens to have a natural tunnel leading to the ocean. In the right wind and wave conditions (as here), this becomes a 'blowhole' with jets of spray emerging from the rock. Wishing everyone a Happy Fence Friday.
