HelenaPF - 2025

26 Jul 2025 13 24 514
Héléna-paule Fitoussi HelenaPF Our long time club member and daily ima board supporter as advisor, Héléna-paule Fitoussi, passed away without pain on July 23rd 2025. Below are words about her and her life, as well as some of her best loved and commented on images she shared with us here on ipernity. Ma gorge et mes lèvres sèches osent à peine prononcer Ton nom Mon Oasis Mon Amour révélé poem by Héléna-Paule ----------------------- Helena grew up and studied in Algeria, from where she was brutally forced to emigrate with her family to France at the age of 26, at the height of the Algerian War of Independence. A schoolteacher by profession, and in addition to choral singing where she excels, she has a passion for photography and then painting, where she developed a highly original and much noticed technique. Her relentless painting production, on the fringe of her job, led her to exhibit her work in a Bordeaux gallery in 2002. A number of her works could be admired in her ipernity gallery. Unfortunately, her technique caused her to suffer from tennis elbow shortly afterwards, forcing her to give up her art for good. Her daughter Fabienne, whom she often mentions in her ipernity gallery, an artist herself and also ipernity member, introduced her to digital art using specialized tools. Helena adopted them relatively quickly, finding them a new means of expressing her talent and her mastery of shapes and colors. Her enchanting, sensual works, always imbued with a deep sense of poetry, will delight us in her galleries, first Facebook, then ipernity from 2007 onwards, which means early in the life of our site. Works always accompanied by the generosity and great tenderness that characterize her, as well as her comments, and have made her such an endearing member of the community, loyal and always approachable. On ipernity, everyone knows that she was an inveterate, passionate and uncompromising admin & moderator of countless groups on themes as diverse as poetry, painting, jazz and many other objects of photographic and pictorial art. She was also keen to take part in the IMA adventure at the end of 2018, helping with daily photo moderation as well as anti-spam, in an attempt to replace our dear friend Pam Johnson who suffered a stroke. She carried out these tasks, in collaboration with the IMA team, until illness prevented her from doing so, early July 2025. She hasn't missed a single general meeting of the IMA (IGA) since its first instance in 2017. We mourn a very dear and admirable friend, imbued with an overflowing passion and love that permeated her words, her actions and the whole of her art. We look forward to hearing from you, who knew and loved her so much. Your condolences will be conveyed to her daughter, Fabienne. --- My life a Sahara of fire, my soul carved on the wall casting shadows, not many, is asking to slake its thirst. My throat and my dry lips just barely dare to say Your name, My Oasis revealed: My Love. poem by Héléna-Paule (translation by Larry Beckett) ==================================== Mes notes se perdent aux larmes de mes yeux Tu me fis présent d'une averse d'étoiles qui depuis éclairent mes nuits, mes cieux vide Najda, celle qui illumine ma vie...

Fabio In September 2024, our long time club member Fabio passed away. While Fabio photographed many different things, he loved photographing people. He came over to Ipernity from Panoramio sharing street scenes with lone people in them. He took touching portraits of the poorest and of the forgotten, most of them in his unique b/w. Everyday reality in general was his favourite subject. His love of the ‘l’heure bleue’ (blue hour) can be seen in many of his images and he even commented on that on his last photo with us. He was a kind , generous and caring man who had many contacts here with whom he shared a deep connection. Fabio ended his time here with us with a photo (Exit) whose title sounds now as a sad premonition of what would happen in a short time : his Exit from IP and unfortunately from this life. A group in his honor remains open for contributions: www.ipernity.com/group/2800806 Below are some of his well loved photos and his last contribution.
