cut off by ring roads, at the end of what is now a long dead end, this little church stands in a nature reserve next to a pond. locked of course, the cottages next door too lazy or uninterested to hold a key. hertfordshire is dreadful for church access, thank god its still different over the border in essex. c13 church with c12 doorway retained, c15 tower with c14 window retained.

east window c14, but rebuilt 1846 by pritchett, who did a lot of restoration hereabouts. both nave and chancel have c13 lancets.

lychgate of 1909, probably by local boy eustace frere who also designed one of the frere tombs that stand to the south of the church.
