Just a few snapshots for reference. Not to show off the photos since there are reflections all over the place (in person one can avoid the reflecctions). Artist statement here shows a photo of my mom and myself, her painting in a sweater in the 60's (a sweater I still own) and myself at her house with camera in hand. Title of the show: FOCUS "My mom, Joyce Lee Fletcher, taught me to look for the most interesting detail and to focus on that. This show is dedicated to her." Below that a Calvin and Hobbes comic strip making fun of artist statements. My mom always had a joke ready, so this statement needed one. That's one of her paintings above the statement. Located at Cassidy's Restaurant, an old time Portland establishment with great house made food and wonderful wooden bar, where Bob, the owner, has art up from local artists year round. Here he is at the bar, and friend and fellow artist is helping prep some snacks. My husband sits after helping with the placement of the photos: Resulting food! Placed all over the restaurant (in the back room are some paintings by said friend - room not used most of the time so none of my images back there): Opening was wonderful. Can you guess which 3 framed images sold at the opening? I also sold some unframed images that I had in a book. I was thrilled.
