Walking through the quiet city Buildings out of place Loom large. Structures we once knew. I peruse the ruins from below While surveyors scan the horizon From the tops of creaking monuments. Smiling past destruction With only a vague feeling Of emperor's doubt.

The spring chill Never easy to ignore, Beds down the dusk, And the camellia tree That sparkled only Twelve hours before, Shakes black As the skulk unleashes. Then, later Hands cover ears While the dawn Waits for the sun, The great deceiver, To return Imperceptibly, Never revealing It's misdeeds, Until the ever present Warning of birdsong Laments the break Of day, once more.

The cloak of loneliness was a distant weed. Something only half comprehended, Barely regarded. Pondered on but not yet worn, Let alone handed down. In the shade of spring Everything stretched ahead, And there was no rush to get home.

In bluebell wood The sun settles low Behind darkened trees. At night time The forest fades And I see you. Your eyes never Leave mine. In videos, the Weather is fine Flowers bloom. Four years to the day. Brightness shines On your face. You look up To feel the warmth, Then look away.
