In a nest in a flower pot under the eave on my deck. When I approach the nest, the parent stays concealed until the last moment then explodes out. Wish I could get a better photo, but the babies are deep in the dark,narrow tunnel formed by the nest and I didn't want to leave them untended for too long. I took the photo by holdng a flashlight in one hand and shooting with the other. (IMG_4466)

These babies are from a clutch of five that are the phoebes' second clutch of the year. The nest is on the turn of a downspout right next to my garage door. The phoebes seem unperturbed by the frequent noise and traffic passing underneath every day because they used the same nest last year. Five babies from the first clutch fledged in late May so the phoebes have been busy birds.
