A Redshank looking for lunch in Mill Creek - in the pond that used to be filled by the tide and then its contents were run through the mill wheels. That's all long gone. I am not sure where the rubbish comes from as it is at least a quarter of a mile from a road.

Ferries usually go astern on leaving Newhaven, except in rough weather, when they do a very tight turn within the harbour. At this point the weather was breezy, but the wind was forecast to increase in strength with gusts upto 40 - 60 mph.
