Mount Washington (left) as seen from summit of Belknap Crater (right). Both are volcanoes in the McKenzie Pass area of Oregon. Belknap last erupted in 480 CE. Washington a long time ago. So long that the soft slopes were pushed aside by glaciers during past ice ages. Leaving the peaked hard core that you see above.
