A Happy Bench Monday to all from the Eastern Foreshore of Mandjar Bay and the estuary in Mandurah. I hope you can keep warm or cool depending on where you live.

A beach at Busselton, WA.

Stingray Wharf, Mandurah. Not the best photo, I'm afraid. The scene was some distance from me and I was shaky having run/walked some distance on an increasingly hot morning, plus my iPhone skills are rather rudimentary. The bird on the right is, of course, an Australian pelican; the one on the left is, I think, a Nankeen heron (sometimes called a night heron in these parts). I took this and walked on ... They were all still there, in more or less the same positions when I passed by 45 minutes later on my return journey. Now THAT is patience. I hope they were all rewarded by a feed from the estuary waters. Gosh, I love this land.

A very Happy Bench Monday to all. This is the Mandurah estuary: ahead is the Indian Ocean; to the right is Mandjar Bay and then the Peel Inlet; to the left is one of the residential canals of Halls Head; behind them (and the photographer) is the War Memorial. These people are looking at the part of Mandurah which borders the marina and Dolphin Quay. It is a sunny day. All is well. Have a great day and I hope your week is pleasing to you.

Have a Happy Bench Monday. Let the week bring you joy and pleasure. Don't stress about Christmas presents or cooking for a cast of thousands. Just tell yourself that (as we say in these Antipodean parts) "She'll be right mate." Chill, baby, chill.

A Happy Fence Friday to all. I hope your day and your weekend are safe, calm and enjoyable. This fence provides guidance more than safety, I think. The cliffs, however, are steep and treacherous. Please look after each other and spare a thought for all those suffering around the world. I'm a great believer that things will get better ... but I am beginning to lose hope that it will be in my lifetime. Too many politicians have a vested interest in chaos and disorder; and by remaining silent we become complicit in the results of their behaviour.

A Happy Bench Monday to everyone. May the week be enjoyable and bring some calm and peace around the world. Not much chance of that, I know, but we can hope that the fanatics and geriatrics who "lead" may be struck by rays of wisdom and pull themselves (and us) back from the abyss.
