Autumn
| 23 Jun 2008 |
There are scads of huge painted murals all over central Philadelphia. It could take you several days to see all of them. This is one we happened to pass on the way to looking at mosaic murals. It's Autumn (Your House in the Forest) by David Guinn, and is at the corner of 9th and Bainbridge.

A female of the rare Peepalope species (left). A cousin to the Jackalope (right), the Peepalope is usually sighted only in the springtime. It is just as shy as its more common cousin, but far less wily and fierce.

| 27 Mar 2009 |
I kept very quiet and avoided sudden movements as I crept up on the mating pair. Though shy, they were curious about the camera and let me take this portrait before they scampered back behind the cacti.
