River Tamar, Saltash, Cornwall (+PiP)

12 Nov 2023 24 29 275
During our recent visit to Devon, we took the opportunity to drive to Saltash in Cornwall to spend the day with my wife's sister. It rained very heavily most of the day, but I managed to get out for a short time between the heavy showers to grab a few photos. Please view this one large, for best effect. There is another view in the PiP. Thanks for looking and have a nice Sunday.

View to St Catherine's Castle, Fowey

Taken from above Readymoney Beach looking towards the castle perched up on the cliffs. I didn't actually climb up to the castle. My wife Jackie and I let the younger family members do that while we stayed on the beach, enjoyed the view and had a nice cuppa! More about the castle here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Catherine%27s_Castle if you're interested in such things. Much nicer viewed large, on black. Thank you.

Cornwall - Polruan from Fowey (1)

A humid, but dull and gloomy day in the main, but still some lovely views. I like all the houses perched on the hillside. The ruins you can see bottom right are the remains of a blockhouse from which a chain ran across to Fowey, to protect the harbour. Please view large, on black. Thank you.

I'm still in Exmouth but thought I'd pop in & wish you all a Happy Fence Friday. This is an old image stored on my iPad - it's called The Weee Man. He is a 3.3 tonne structure which represents the amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) the average British household throws away in a lifetime..!! First time I've posted from my iPad so hope it shows OK. Processed in Snapseed.

Another of the odd works of art scattered around the Eden Centre. My grandson was particularly pleased to point this one out to me and suggested I take a photo of it "because it's got boobs Grandad" :-))

You'll notice a lot of the outside gardens are not yet in full flower. We'll definitely be going back later in the year.
