Continuing my miscellany from Hayling Island. Found this apparently abandoned bit of kit on a plot of land in Mill Rythe Lane.

Derelict Hotel/Night Club Nr Hindhead

02 Feb 2011 299
This long abandoned and derelict listed building was once a 16th Century Coaching House called the Seven Thorns Inn. At some time (pre-WW1) it became a Road House (Service Station/Hotel). Subsequently, in the 60's it became the Spaniards Inn/Ravens Nightclub and survived as such until the late 1980 when it closed and was abandoned, and at some stage was set alight. It is now in an extremely dangerous condition. In 2004 (?) planning permission was applied for to demolish the remaining structure and turn it into a 2/3 storey, 100 bed hotel in conjunction with the Hindhead improvement works. This was turned down and no one seems to know what will become of it.
