My local park is normally pretty busy at most times of day, but it was very hot on the day I took this shot and it was almost deserted. This person sitting in the shade caught my eye.

Situated next to the shopping centre, this is where I retreat to when my wife is wandering around the shops. It is beautifully kept and always a pleasure to visit. The buildings in the background are all student accommodation for the nearby Portsmouth University.

A beautifully kept park in the heart of Portsmouth, Hampshire. The building in the background is a hotel and, I think, very attractive. I initially thought it was student accommodation. The window detail in the PiP is not from this building but from another similar one where I could get closer.

He sat still for ages...............until he spotted a squirrel..!!
