I heard on the TV the other day that these extended heatwave conditions are causing some trees to enter an "early autumn" phase as it was so dry. Checking in the garden I saw evidence of this on the lawn under my sycamore tree.........lots of seed heads and leaves losing their colour and falling. I brought some indoors to photograph them. The same is true of some of the other trees nearby. On the plus side, the seed pods and leaves are very photogenic. There is a shot of one of the leaves in the PiP.

Yesterday, I found this this lying on the paving stones in my back garden........it had blown in from the council-owned Lime Trees that are on the other side of the garden fence. As it was just starting to rain I quickly pegged it on the clothes-line to get this quick shot. Better viewed large if you have time. Thanks for looking.

We have a huge Sycamore tree in our garden and now Autumn is approaching, I'm starting to find lots of these seed pods. If we don't pick them up we'll have dozens of seedling trees in the spring! Taken indoors in my studio (well........on my tabletop anyway) :-))

I was poking around in the garden and found this tiny feather attached to these Aquilegia seed pods. I took it indoors to photograph.
