The older I get, the more I remind myself of my grandfather.... Roger Dinda photograph, scanned from an undated Kodachrome slide. Probably sometime in 1954.

Joan had ducked into a local store a few days back, leaving me in the car with Tom Petty on the radio. 'Twas raining. I liked the look, and snapped a wavy pic.

Glittering Beauty

Shot this from my car, and it's been cropped and considerably Photoshopped (or Apertured, I suppose). My apologies for the windshield dirt, but it's just a condition of existence in Michigan's winter. What you can't capture properly in a photograph is that absolutely everything you can see looks this way. Inspired by something Julie ( CaptPiper ) said under one of her delightful Ice Storm photos.

Metropolis

Although it's surrounded by farms , Hickory Corners isn't a proper farm town. To all appearances it was a little shopping district, out amongst the farms--and near enough the resorts at Gull Lake that it likely caught vacation traffic. Now it hangs on with antiques, and atmosphere....
